Matrix Takes 8 PTR

It was a windy day...wind was blowing about 15 mph all afternoon. I really wasn't expecting to see anything decent as far as bucks. I was hunting with woods behind and to the sides of me, and a downhill drop in front of me. I hung a buck bomb with some Golden Estrus scent and hit my MADD deer grunt about five times. As I just finished some coffee, I hear and see a nice 8 ptr walking across the ridge in front of me. I have no idea where he came from, but I'm willing to bet that he heard the grunts and smelled the scent. I pick up the crossbow, and got him to stop about 15-20 yards directly in front of me, giving me a perfect broadside shot.
I sent a 17" Zombie Slayer (made by "excaliber") tipped with a 125 gr Muzzy Trocar crossbow broadhead. The arrow found its mark, hitting right behind the shoulder and makimg a complete pass-through. He ran about 50 yards and I watched him go down. The shot was taken in the afternoon and I had plenty of daylight left, so I decided to give him some time before walking over. He was my biggest buck take so far, so I decided to drop him off at the taxidermist. There is at least one bigger 8 ptr that I have seen on my trail camera that I'm hoping to see during gun season. Thanks guys for all of the kind words. And thanks Dan "excaliber" for setting me up with those 17" arrows...they did the job. And I forgot to mention that I bought a custom string from Keith "nchunterkw" and couldn't be happier with it!
