Colton Scores

Post by flightattendant100 »

Colton and I went out to the lease Saturday morning. We got an extra early start ( 3:00 am) so when we got into the stand, he curled up in the floor to catch a few winks.( he is really still and quiet when he sleeps :o ) We had a cold front get there about the same time we did, with the temps dropping and the wind blowing about 30 mph. Not ideal conditions but we were going to give it a go anyway. About 7:15 a deer showed up and I glassed it, expecting it to be a doe with a fawn not too far behind. Was I surprised! I told him to get up and get the gun. He responded, sleepily, "What is it, a pig?" He made a nice shot and is sooo tickled!Image
We have a pretty good time hunting together. I know he is getting older and these days are going to come to a close as he starts to hunt on his own but I sure treasure them now while he still sits in the blind with me.
Now I can get a doe with my bow and relax. It does feel pretty good to have the "pressure off"
P.S. he used a Browning A-Bolt in .243, with some Hornady "arrows"
