a clean miss tonight

So I went out this afternoon around 3:15 got into my stand and watched all the blue jays eating the corn. Around 4:25 I heard some noise behind me but it was in a direction I had no view of anything. Then about 20-25 minutes a nice but smaller doe came out of the tree line. She knew something wasn't quite right but kept on walking in towards the feeder. I was able to slowly raise my bow to my shoulder and find her in the scope. Well the next thing I heard was a metal sound and then my arrow smacking tree branches. Well I guess my scope was in view of the deer but the arrow had made contact with the 2x4 frame of my stand. I did a double take as the doe just walked away and used some words and walked home. I went back to double check to make sure it was truly a clean miss and it was, will check in the morning to see if I can track down my arrow. The error was all me and I should of raised myself up a touch but cant go backwards now. Glad it was a clean miss but I wished I would of slowed down and thought threw before pulling the trigger.

It happens to us all at some point.

I wounded more twig and branches last year then i care to admit. Lost a few arras bent a few blades, but not one hair was harmed on a deer.
A clean miss is a learning experience in my book, I gain something from every one.

I have killed a couple trees and limbs before

The problem is, is that trees and twigs are a very militant subgroup of the anti-hunting people. They are generally not too vocal in their protests, but they will on almost any occasion move, pop up from an unseen location, and flat out just jump right in front of arrows sacrificing themselves to save deer. You can never trust trees.
