I think we should go visit Danny sometimeracking up points wrote:My wife shot the offspring at Boofest and she loved it compared to her Matrix 330, which she now struggles to draw. The offspring is easy to cock and very quiet. If they made one that shot a 400gr arrow around 400fps, I'd probably sell my 405. It is definetly an underrated platform and it far exceeded my expectations.

Re: Offspring
Offspring is an awesome bow IMO. Modern day robin hood is Newguy. 1 arrow in the target at a time in the future.

Re: Offspring
I'm seriously studying acquiring an Offspring, but I have a couple questions.
First, what length bolts are recommended?
Second, did I understand that the limb assembly and be used on a Micro stock?

Re: Offspring
Arrow length is 20" and you cannot use the front end on a Micro. The front end will not bolt up and a compound front end needs a long slot milled in the mainframe to alow the cables and cable slides to move fore and aft.
The two bow's mainframes start off with the same extruded stock and are machined differently to accept theit respective front ends. The Offspring uses 2 main front end bolts and the Micro uses one.
The Offspring has 2 small fasteners that go in the sides of the top of the mainframe because the slot that is machined for the cables leaves the top of the mainframe with two fingers sticking out. Those fasteners secure those fingers to the riser. There is none of the afore mentioned on the Micro.
So you can't get there from here

Re: Offspring
Thanks Boo.
There are some smoking deals on Offspring packages (just over $600), but would it be more prudent to wait until after the SHOT show to see what new bows are coming out for 2016? I'm just wondering if they may not come out with a Micro Offspring next year, and for me, that would be worth waiting for.

Re: Offspring
The way Danny Miller attaches his cables is worth looking at. He uses a tab or clip. Factory Offspring has cables around axle I believe, making it tough to tune. Just a thought.

gamestar01.....What's up with this member? Has anyone else went and looked at his past posts in his Profile?
I see nothing at all there that applies to crossbows or crossbow hunting.... Not sure what's going on.
