I've securred some new hunting opportunities

Post by Sandman »

Hello all,

I thought I would share some good news that I have been fortunate to receive. I grew up on a farm in Port Hope and moved away at age 19 to pursue my career. I've always missed my home town area and have always said I wanted to return. After a few years of searching I am now the proud owner of a cottage on Rice Lake. I've been doing some touch ups since taking possession at the end of November. I was working last week and could hear the farmer's tractor across the road so I walked over to introduce myself. After chewing the fat with him for about 20 minutes about pigs'n'tators and one thing or a tother. I mentioned that I do a lot of bow hunting for deer and turkey. I no sooner got it out of my mouth and he replied "feel free to hunt my farm anytime you want".

He has 250 acres of property with about 180 workable and 40 bush.

Here's the new shack;

And the Walleye fishing isn't to shabby either;

Doubt I will get out for deer this year but I cant wait for 2016 season.

Cheers,

That's great to hear Robin! Congrats on that. It's amazing the things that God makes happen right in front of you when you're not expecting it.

Now then, get your equipment, your quiver and bow, and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.

Congratulations on the new cottage Robin. That is a great area for fishing, not sure about the hunting. Good luck.

That's a beautiful place you have there. Congrats on your new hunting spot. They can be hard to come by now a days. Hope you have some good hunting success there. :)

That it is. Id love to say its mine but its my brothers. He lives full time on the lake two doors down from my new shack. Shes a beauty.

We come from a GM family and my other brother races a 1981 Camaro - He's stepped it up a level this year and is pushing over 800 hp.

Nice area around the lake . Are you on the south side on the Bewdley end or to the east some ?
You cruise some of those back roads going down to Cobourg . The road does a lot of up down and lefts and rights . :lol:
Have an old Navy buddy who lives down there and can not understand my fascination with the country side .

I'm on the Bailieboro side - South Monaghan Twp off of Hwy 28 about 3 kms out of Bewdley.
