SMF Scope with Matrix Grizzly

Post by guitarman »

I just received my new Grizzly from Pine Mountain Archery and it came with the SMF scope instead of the dead zone/ vari zone scope. How do I go about getting the dead zone scope.

 I would contact the retailer and ask him to trade your present one for what is listed by Excalibur in the " Lite Package" as packaged and advertized by the manufacturer. Excalibur only offers the Dead Zone or Vari-zone as scopes in their package for this model..... The SMFis a poor and inexpensive alternative scope when compared to either of the "package scopes" listed by Excal.

Let us know how this turns out, for as we all know bad news travels way faster than good news and they I'm sure are aware of that ( but if they balk about exchanging?? you may want to remind them ) 8)

Did you get it off eBay? What did the listing state? It should have the scope in the listing. If it is not what they advertised, they should have to make it right or contact eBay.

Just goes to show how much and how far Excalibur will go to make a customer happy. Even though, I think Pine Mountain Archery should have steped up and taken care of the problem, as I would emagine they were the ones who substituted your first one for the one of lesser value.

I thought the SMF scope is a Multi-Retical Scope and that is exactly what they advertise on the Grizzly package on Ebay.

Not true at all. Excalibur makes the SMF scopes and sold bunches of them before they ever released the newer line of scopes. Contact Excalibur and they will probably swap it out for you if you want one of their other scopes. But I can assure you that it came in the package you received straight from Excalibur when they boxed it up. It is an Excalibur scope and carries a lifetime warranty.

Excalibur will switch out the scopes. My package came sealed from the factory from Pine Mountain Archery. I do not beleive that Pine Mountain Archery is doing anything wrong.

Pine mountain archery just email me and said excalibur is having trouble with the vari and dead zone scopes:"The scope you received is the correct scope and is as pictured. When these bows first came out Excalibur was shipping them with the Dead Zone/Vari-Zone scopes. The reticles in the Dead Zone scopes were failing on these bows so Excalibur switched to the standard multi-reticle scope which is a much tougher scope." What do you guys think? Thanks JOE
