So, I quit coming on the forum since it got depressing to see dead deer and I couldn't get out in the woods! I was in Virginia for about 3 months and only got to hunt one time, saw nothing. Got back to Michigan a few days ago and immediately missed a doe with muzzle-loader (Scope issue). Tonight I finally got my first Excal deer!
Basically I was sitting in the stand for 5 minutes when this young doe walked by. She literally stood under and around my stand for about an hour. Eating winter wheat and bouncing around. I was waiting for mommy or daddy to walk out, but nothing else was moving. After she was done eating and drinking and frolicking she was about to leave. Broadside at 30 yards, perfect double lung. She ran about 50 yards, and piled up. Blood everywhere, dressed out at a little under 100 pounds, so just a little girl, but good meat...
