new bow and new member

Post by Irondude »

Hi all from thunder bay ontario canada, thought I'd join the forum and maybe you fine people could offer some input on the new bow I purchased today during a boxing day sale. I'm happy that after much research on bows that I chose a matrix for my first crossbow. I went to my local sports shop with the intention of buying a matrix 310 but when I arrived I noticed that they had a new matrix model out today. I ended up purchasing the matrix 350 LE #3500 SZ. It comes with the light stuff package and the shadow zone illuminating scope. The boys at the sport shop tell me this is a new model that has just come out and we're not able to release it until boxing day. Now outside of knowing the specs I cannot find any reviews for this model. It also is not listed on excalibur website.
I have only assembled it at the moment and haven't had the chance to sight in the scope or fire it yet.
Is there anyone familiar with this model that may offer an opinion on it?
Thanks Dave

Hi Steve thanks for your reply, I am with the understanding from the boys at my local sports shop is they they were to keep this model under wraps until boxing day. After all my research I too have not seen this model either. Just a little about it, it has 240 lbs draw weight, the obvious 350 fps and comes with the light stuff package, 4 Diablo 18", quiver, chin rest, illuminated scope and so on. I was priced for boxing day at $649 which was only $20 more than the 310 I was intending on buying. Although there's no info to be found on it I'm rest assured it's a matrix so I am confident of its abilities and quality. Just there is absolutely no reviews on it anywhere lol

Welcome to the forum Dave. First thing you need to do is get a stringer to keep brace height for your bow. Second thing to do is keep your thumb down when shooting. Have fun and shoot safe. :D

Welcome aboard - I am in Thunder Bay often for work and I always see deer within the city limits. Congrats on the new bow and your investment into a fine product.

Hi Munch, yes the deer are really over populated here to the point of being a nuicense animal lol we have them walking city streets, in everyone's yards lol Here in thunder bay we can get tags for dropping deer within city limits by bow only. Helps control the population. I think they find refuge in town now due to warmer winters, more food and less predators like wolves in the city. Makes for keeping the freezer topped up lol

Well goose52 to put it into perspective in regards to price, here at the retailer where I bought it, the non sale price on 310 is $749 , and the 330 is $879 both plus taxes.
Now keep in mind it's boxing day sale, the dropped the 310 down to $629 and that was for the demo that everyone and thier dog has been handling. Wouldn't be surprised if it was dry fired more than once so the 350 new in the box coming in at $649 couldnt be passed up at that price considering where the smaller models were coming in at.
