Last harvest of this season... probably

Post by Coon Gravy »

I had a chance to use a Butt-Out tool and gut hook for the first time on this one and they worked fine. Not sure the extra tools to clean warrant the time saved but they did save some time. Also, I am 0 for 3 on arrow recovery. Broke 2 arrows and lost one outright. 2 of the 3 broadheads were also lost. Target shooting without ammo expense more than makes up the difference but I can see the advantages of getting into arrow making/repair at home. That might be my new offseason adventure. Hope you all had a fun and fruitful year.

As long as Mike is making strings I doubt I ever give that a try. I haven't used lighted nocks but plan to in the future. I got into this crossbow thing at the last minute like so many others and although the barrage of info from the forums has been nice and well received it wasn't really practical to try to make changes during the season. I got my gear set to shoot and just stuck it out. The proof is in the pudding though, bells and whistles aside the thing is a killer right out of the box. I need to take the rifles out and clean them and apologize, at least they can look forward to some feral hog action.

I was losing arrows all the time until I went to lighted knocks. Get my expensive arrows back every time.
