i push them forward. never an issue.

but ur bottom rings where you think will work, then lay your scope on them, shoulder the bow n see how your eye relief is, go from there, its all adjustable

When I mount a scope I like to get the rings as far apart from each other as I can .see were thy sit on your scope and shoulder the bow .Dutch

I've done it several ways, either both pushed forward, or the front pushed forward and the rear pushed backward or vice versa. I think both pushed forward is the correct way, but never had a problem doing it the other ways.
I'm sure many just put them in the grooves and tighten them down without giving that any consideration.

front forward, rear back,,, I don't find that all that relevant. I worry more about getting the eye relief correct, and most of all getting the reticle crosshair square or plumb, with the rail and riser once they are level
