Thanks for the link. I watched it and I found it ok, but not great, with the exception of the bear scenes. It could have been shorter. Also, not a big Leo fan.

I don't mean to sound harsh. I think it's a big screen flick, some of it gets lost seeing it on a small screen (PC, tablet, smartphone)

I wish I would have went to see that instead of the new Star Wars movie today. They really Jumped the Shark on this one.

Good overall but really too much walking in puddles and wading in rivers. The number one rule outdoors is to keep your feet dry.

Amazing how they get the wet animal skin clothing dry so fast on film.

Impervious to cold weather? Any other man would have died in such conditions  So it's a little overdone with all living in the outdoors lacking dry and warm clothing................I know I would not survive such conditions. I live fairly close to the locations where the movie was filmed. DiCaprio says he experienced global warming during the shooting of the film.........he experienced a chinook wind lol...................normal for Southern Alberta

Saw this last week with my oldest daughter We both enjoyed it very much. Some parts were overdone for sure but hey that's Hollywood. :)

And how! Too much Disney!
I saw jack reacher on the tv a couple nights ago. I think I enjoyed that more so than either of the above movies. Another good one I saw very recently was the Martian.

Funny, from my iphone that link works and starts playing the movie but from my laptop it just brings up spam and other crap wanting me to "join" or "download" something...Not sure why but my wifey is trying to figure it out...she's the computer nerd...

Totally enjoyed the scenery and acting as much as I disdained the unrealistic parts: shooting a ML pistol 3 times w/o reloading (on horseback); not freeing of hypothermia; walking on a busted leg; starting fires w/o any equipment, etc.
Lots of gratuitous violence and killing, though, if you like that kind of stuff.
The Griz attack scene is awesome. Wearing the untanned hide the way he did just plain ridiculous.
Vortex, Phoenix, single-shot rifles and handguns.
Incurable tinkerer.
Why hunt? Simple, it's BASIC. Why breath?!

saw the Revenant this afternoon. Makes Jeramiah Johnson look like a disney movie. Dang, Revenant was the most realistic depiction of frontier life I have ever seen. I got cold watching it and my feet are still cold. Shows they can still make a good movie without all the sex and queers and explosions. Until now my favorite movies have been Lonesome Dove, Dances with Wolves, and Quigley Down Under. Revenant is at the top of my list now....Burrrrrr.

I liked the movie also. Leo's guns were made in Pennsylvania. The only part I questioned, and if you hunt you know, keep your feet and powder dry. Try wearing wet boots and socks for 2 weeks in the winter. EEK
Still pretty good.
