Thanks Norm, I actually just reserved a room for five nights at the Oshawa-Whitby Travelodge as per Texas Paul. I got a great rate with my discounts of $99/night. I'm still open to suggestions but don't want to spend a lot for about six hours use per night. My GPS says Booville is about 68kms away. Does that sound average. I think last year we were about thirty to forty minutes away.

Anthony, I checked with the Travelodge and I'm sorry but they said they do not have spiders on cobwebs in the doorways to their rooms. I could check availability back at the Cedarview Motel, they had an abundance there.

.....I tried to book a room at the Travelodge and it is book solid for that entire week....apparently they said they had a slew of Trappers from the states who heard that Boo was serving yotes, coons, squirrel, muskrats and other vermin at the 'fest and felt they just had to be part of the shindig!

If the dates are still July 23-24, then my accommodations will be at a cottage on Rice Lake about a 40 minutes drive from Don's. If anyone wants to make the drive up for a day of fishing, before or after the festivities, I'd be happy to host a couple anglers on my boat.

I'm new here. Hi everyone. They just completely renovated an old Howard Johnson's hotel on Liberty St in Bowmanville, Ontario. I think its a Holiday Inn now. Its only 10 to 15 min drive to the Newtonville cutoff. It's right off the 401 just west of Newtonville.
