Get Your Marks-the BOOFEST 100

Post by paulaboutform »

***With Don and Karen's Blessing of Course***

How much fun would a 100 yard shoot be at Boofest?
....TOO MUCH FUN!!! :D :D :D
We could start off on the bench and then do some freehand shooting. A chance for many to try some extended range shooting they otherwise wouldn't get to do. Perhaps a little competition to raise some funds for a worthy cause? I think this would be great fun. Of course we'll try to set this up with a proper backstop so arrows aren't being lost. Thoughts? .......if your first name starts with a C and ends with an N and you're from Texas you can't shoot against anyone with the same name as your dad. (the above rule only applies to Texans)

What do you think Paul, a wall of haybails or plywood for a backstop? Don may be right thinking haybails. No swimming required.

I'm good with anything as long as it is safe.
I have a neighbor to my east who is a real pie. If he were to find an arrow in his property or in one of his cattle, the cops would be called and Boofest might not happen again. So, we need shooting in a completely safe direction. As with any range, DO NOT RAISE YOUR BOW ABOVE THE HORIZONTAL!! Please be very conscience about that. There is tons of room here to play with and easily be safe at the same time. I would appreciate it if everyone would be outwardly conscience of everyone's actions. Please do not hesitate to say anything to anyone and if you get told that you did something unsafe, discuss it and above all, please do not get offended.
Safety is everyone's responsibility. Everyone should police each other.

Just bringing this back up as a reminder. :D
I'm thinking about having a bench to check marks out to 100yards and then some freehand 100yards shooting for fun or competition. I'm thinking a sign up for competition, drawing names out of a hat and shooting off. Maybe as a 50/50??? Kicking some ideas around.

You don't need to raise it too much above horizontal to get 100
I think arrows would get lost in hay bails.
And I'm right peeved I won't be there this year to do 100yds
We're going to be doing one this year hopefully at one of the clubs here in UK.
It's a great idea, hope you manage to get it together. :D
