Unstring Micro335

Post by GRUNDY »

Has anyone unstrung their Micro? I do not believe I could do it. Once I have the stringer set where it will compress the limbs enough to remove the string, I doubt there is enough string to let the tension off the limbs.

Been considering leaving mine unstrung if I know I will not be shooting it for a while.

Thanks,

Brian

Try shortening the string on your stringer so that more compression takes place.

I think it was Doe Master that had this tip in a past post, but try shortening your rope cocker to the point it wont hardly go on the bow from the string side. Now put it on from the stirrup side. Seems it will go on a bit shorter that way so that you can get string off. Just put it on from that side, roll it around and do your string bit. :D

Thete I'd really no reason to remove the string unless you are putting a new string on. You can leave it strung for as long as you own it with out any harm .some folks leave the cockng rope on there bow well it is in storage. It will not harm your limbs. D

He is not having any problem getting his string off if I am reading his post right. He is having problems letting the stringer down to the point where he can remove it from the unstrung bow.

Simply make your stringer cord longer. If you get it to long you will not be able to unstring the bow so simply take it in a little at a time till you get the correct length. Took me two tries the first time I did it. I put a mark on my stringer at the point where it worked. No problems anymore.

Got it! I do have the stringer set to just enough to remove my string. If I'm understanding this right, having the stringer set up like this should give me enough travel to relax the limbs.

I would like to send a few string sets out for re-serving, including the one on the bow. It would be nice to send them all at once. It might also help me rest better at night knowing that the pressure is off the limbs...

Thanks,

B

I bro my rope on my stringer these Micros are tough but my string MAY have been cheap made..I listen to folks here and got Paracord 550 and it did not break..Biggest problem I had was Anti -dry fire catching stringer string when I released it so I put a rubberband on the dry fire button to hold it in closed postion and then I just pull trigger with rope cocker and let string down easy..

Hold onto one cocking handle (with one hand) when decocking the bow. Simultaneously, use your thumb on your other hand to depress the ADF and your index finger to squeeze the trigger. No need for an elastic. Never have had a stringing aid break on me.

I am so weak in my arms that I cannot do as you said,I TRIED and was short of breath....I have to use both hands on cocker to pull it back and quickly pull trigger...Rubber band holding the dry fire in is great help for me..I never knew I would get like this but between LYMES,BAD HEART,BACK TROUBLE its been rough....I am about oldest hunter still sitting in woods in my area I hunt at 5 degrees at 62...
