Waxing Strings / Ropes

Post by rattlerun »

I keep my string waxed regularly, but I was wondering if anybody here keeps their stringing aid or cocking ropes waxed or use some other preservative on them? They both have some wear showing on them. Not a lot, but some.

I don't do anything with my rope cocker, but I should spray it with silicone once in a while. I guess I'm lazy because I have a few spools of rope. The cranking aid is a different story. I rub string/serving wax into it. It doesn't have to be often, but if you do it just once, you'll be way ahead.

Boo, when you say cranking aid, do you mean the string changer/brace height changer rope? That's the rope that is showing some wear. Also, where might one find cocker rope, and or string changer rope. (the kind attached to the big white plastic blocks).
