Boofest happenings

Post by Boo »

Paulaboutform put a tech from Vortex Canada in contact with me to talk about Boofest. Paul gave him (Reg) the low down on Kieara and he was touched by what we, the forum members, are doing. He's going to talk to his boss to check, but it appears that we may be getting some really cool products from Vortex. But the best part is that this guy is the real deal. He knows scopes/optics. He's written a book on optics and also trains the Canadian military snipers! He has offered to lend us his expertise at Boofest!!! This is a really great opportunity for us! He asked if we want him to do a seminar or a question/answer period.
So the question begs, what do you guys want?
I mean no offense to anyone, but some of us (maybe me too) don't quite understand optics and Reg would be the man to talk to.
He also shoots an Excalibur bow!

It is a win win for everybody in attendance to have a optical specialist at Boofest to answer any questions that we may have about scopes and optics. We would gladly invite and welcome Reg.

I had the opportunity to talk to Reg for quite some time last night and let me tell you, this gentleman is a wealth of knowledge. I've been involved in competition 3D archery for many years and active as a coach and tech for many years as well....mostly compounds and some traditional. I'm saying this because I'm pretty good at picking out when someone is legitimate and has a strong knowledge base. Well, it didn't take long to figure out that Reg from Vortex is impressive in his knowledge and I can't wait to pick his brain further. Also, the fact that he was so touched on a human level by our cause, and the fact that his associate, and the owner of Vortex Canada were so enthusiastic about backing our Kierra cause for Boofest 2016, speaks volumes of the type of Company Vortex Canada is and the type of men these are. I'm so excited to meet them in person and further my understanding about optics and MOA and. .......

....Absolutely fantastic...Understanding optics has always been foreign to me...all I know is that I have never been disappointed with what I have...but really don't know why....A seminar would be great....

A guy with knowledge like that and an outgoing attitude is worth a fortune. Let's welcome him as a good friend.

The first thing to do at Boofest is to give him a hug and a cookie....and a beer, on me.
Don't look at the antlers!! And don't look him in the eye!!

Why don't you give him a beer personally at Boofest?

Don, that would be a great seminar. It's always good to learn about the equipment we depend on. Optics are one of my weak points and it would be great to expand my knowledge on it.

Don when you are talking to him . Get him to bring a disassembled scope so people can see inside the workings . My first time was interesting looking inside . It made sense why the tube is bigger on my target scopes .

My interest is peaked !!!! Anyone have an Idea how far it is From Portland Ore ( I live pretty close to there ) to Don's place ? 8) :D

Not sure what time of the year it's held but I'm wondering if a harley trip would be do-able then weather wise? ...I have a very light weight, small custom cargo trailer for camping gear, and shooting equipment I pull behind the bike.
