You can actually use the magnification adjustment ring as a speed ring on the Vortex to get 20-30-40-50, etc.
There are a couple of threads about it on Crossbow Talk forum.

All a speed ring is is a magnification ring that shows speed settings instead of power settings. Adjust magnification up for faster arrows and down for slower arrows after sighting in for 20 yards.

I have heard about this, but wasn't sure if you can do it with a reticle that isn't set up for that.. Either way, it is really nice to have the flexibility to just use them with the MOA system because the marks on the reticle are exact MOA positions, so once ya sight the first crosshair for 20 or something like that, then you just create a holdover chart, and once you get one laid out to around 40 or so yards, you'll notice definite patterns with the reticle and then you can just pretty accurately guess what the rest will be! Also, if you run out of holdover on the reticle, then you can always go by the clicks on the top turret.

Really big fan of this particular scope.
