Oh man did that ever turn out nice!! Well done.

I tried a couple projects like that in the past but the wood slices I used for the tops always split on me after a while. Most likely not dry enough when I cut them. :)

Seems every winter you come on here with a nice new project you completed. Starting to look forward to seeing these projects.

You need to stabilize the wood with something like Pentacryl, it soaks into the wood and displaces the water and leaves a coating on the cell walls of the wood reducing the chance of the wood from cracking as it dries.
