The Fall Bear Camp

Post by Big John »

Well this years Bear Camp at my place is going to be Aug. 27 to Sept. 4.
Since this is my own, it's "no charge" to whoever comes. It's a great gathering of Excal members who want a good Bear Hunt!
We have Great food, great Baits, excellent hunting area, and usually perfect weather.
This year I decided to add one more to the camp. Someone who is a complete Bear Hunting Newbie! :D This makes for great stories and reports daily.

So this year I'm taking the following Forum members:
Normous
Bellerivercrossbowhunter
Racking up points (the newbie)
Alfred
Myself

I'm hoping to go 5 for 5 this season, last season we went 4 for 4!
Stay tuned for pics and stories much later in the season.
As well, anyone heading for spring Bear, GOOD LUCK!!!

John, I can't possibly thank you enough for this opportunity. Hunting bears has been lifelong dream for me. When I was a teenager, my uncle was my hunting mentor and he had a cabin in the bear woods. He killed them with a longbow and that left an impression on me...the idea of man with sticks and string against a real beast. It is something I really look forward to. To say I'm thrilled is a huge understatement. I am counting down the days...

I'll probably never be in a position to join in on something this nice.
But I'm curious as to the cost of license and bear tags in Canada for guys who live south of the border ?

Norm, that's not all they say the bear gall does, if I was you guys don't let him eat it until you're almost home....otherwise lock your doors and keep your sleeping bags zipped tight!
I really wish you all the best time, great luck and big bears.

LOL

The fall Bear camp is a great time for all of us. Now hurry up & get here... :)

I have a feeling it will be an all Micro fest. Except for that one compound bow that show's up every year.. :)

Gene, perhaps Ontario is different but I know in B.C., as a non resident alien you can only legally hunt with a registered outfitter.
