Best Upgrade

Post by Deafman »

Ok I'd like to hear everyones opinions on which of these upgrades you would do and in what order. Excalibur 350 le with the dead zone scope. Would you change the scope to a Hawke xb30 or change the trigger to a Trigger Tech? Can only do one right now to maintain peace and harmony on the home front lol.

I would upgrade thw scope first hands down. Optics are critical for me...

Start with a Boo string. I'd say optics, but if it's between that scope and that trigger...I'd go with that trigger just because I don't like the Hawke scope.

So true.

Once you go Leupold all other scopes seem sub par.... :)

I would definetly upgrade the scope over the trigger though I don't know if it would be a Hawke. I've got one now and I'd class it as "okay". It's well made but the glass is nothing to write home about.

My 350 LE has a fantastic trigger in it. No way I need a TT on this bow. Go with a new scope.

You live in Port Hope . So purchase a good piece of glass and then send the trigger unit to Boo to massage . :)

Hawke XB30 first, when Leupold makes an illuminated crossbow scope I'll be first in line to buy one.

The triggers on my micros are both so good i hardley noticed the difference of a tt . But i have a bunch of scopes and the leupold crossbones is the best of them all .totally worth it some knock it because its a glorified vx rifle scope with micro adjustment yada yada. Its clear as he..l and pretty good in low light and you never here a guy who has one say ....i wish i got another brand.

Do not regret spending more money then i did for my hawke! My second i got a steal on second hand.... guy ripped me off keeping the back alumina cap though

X2. The glass... Nikon Bolt would work pretty well on the 350, for about $150, Leupold Crossbones is a little more, but a great crossbow scope. I am not a Hawke scope person so can't say on those. ( I would vote for Leupold) :D you will not regret it, and Boo does a killer job on triggers.but you could get a Nikon and a Boo trigger job for about the same $ as s Leupold Crossbones.

Yep the scope, and stick with the XB-30 Pro, far to many judge a scope by the one they have, if you have any of the other Hawke scopes, I wouldn't rate them much better than the factory scope,,, the XB-30 Pro in my iponion is the finest Crossbow exclusive scope made, I would never hunt a scope that wasn't already set fer any range I wnated when I looked through it,,, and untill the Zeiss has a lighted reticle, it will stay 2nd to me behind the XB-30 Pro, and I have two Viper XBR's on the safe, better brighter optics than Leupold, and it is lighted, but you see whats on mine,,

Just out of curiosity why can't luepolds such as my mark ar be set for any range, unless i misunderstood what you said. Mine is set perfect for where i hunt. Have four ranged marks and that was with half hour of setting it up. Im sure i could get more with the turret use like Derrick does.
Best crossbow exclusive scope? Well our opinions differ greatly.
I agree hawke is much better then the factory scopes, but i have looked through that new xb30 pro and i wasnt impressed at all, actually prefer the tact zone over it.
Yes many judge a scope by what they have isnt that personal preferance? Every one has their own needs wants expectations, hence why they have that scope. Many have tried lots ans settled on what they have
