Black Eagle Executioner

Post by Browntown274 »

I am ordering some of these arrows tomorrow and want to know what you think before I give Jerry a call. Arrows will be the BEE with flat aluminum nocks and 92g brass inserts. Shooting the Matrix 350 LE. Here is what I would like help with.

#1 vane setback 3/4 - 1 3/8

#2 RH helical, RH offset, straight (I see RH helical on the forum the most)

#3 SK 200 , SK 300, 2" Blazers (I see Blazers on the forum the most)

Primary use is for deer hunting. I am getting great accuracy with the factory weight bolts that weight 403-404 grains. I will either use a 100g slick trick for 385-390 or the 125g slick trick for 410-415. I will just have to see what weight it shoots the best. Thanks!

I'd ditch the aluminum nocks if I was you. Aluminum gets nicks and dents which wear out your serving much faster, plastic nocks don't harm servings. other than that you'll have yourself some fine arrows.

So the plastic nook is better? Do you suggest the plastic flat one or the halfmoon? I thought I read that the aluminum prevented misfires but I could be mistaken. I am up for whatever suggestions you guys have. What will the weight be on the plastic nock, I think the metal ones are 20g.

Plastic flat is what all my Executioners wear. Not sure of plastic nock weight, perhaps someone can chime in on that. I just weigh my shafts with inserts, nocks and vanes on. The aluminum nocks get rough edges and nicks when shooting targets. If you are not on top of that all the time and don't notice a sharp edge the damage will be done before you notice. Also the aluminum nocks are typically glued in and tough to remove pending the glue used. The plastick ones are press fit so easy to replace if you need to.

10 gr for the BE plastic insert. I like the BE plastic nocks because it is easy to add a 8/32 - 18 gr set screw into the rear of it to match my 28 gr Lumenoks.

Lumenoks for hunting and matched nocks for practice.

The plastic nocks are $1 cheaper per arrow so I'm down with that!

I shoot the 350 LE too.
18" Bees
Pretty sure mine are 90 grain inserts as arrow alone is 282 grains.
Plastic flat nocks
2" Blazers but I really like the SK 300s too. Either will do fine.
Right helical.
And I shoot 100 grain heads for 382 grain total.

I recommend 2"Blazers with aluminum nocks .Tell Jerry you want ALL the right helical he can get in it . He can just about match the Arizona Bolt Jig we all love . I had him fletch a dozen like this last year and was shocked he got that much helical in them .

Is that critical to have a helical on these bolts?

So much easier to control Your broadheads with plenty of helical , Especially fixed heads . JMO

Bought a dozen BE Executioners from Jerry a few years ago to shoot out of my Exocet 200 in South Africa. They were lethal and shot like match ammo but...I want to try the BE zombies since the Executioner were pretty fragile and all broke when shot into animals.

Another question, what diameter field point with the BEE's? Are they the same 9/32 as the Diablos?
