It's actually too long because as it threads in, it eventually bottoms out before pulling tight.
The front fastener bottoms out with the stock on or off?

When I tried to use the 1 1/2" FRONT screw in the BACK hole with the stock ON, that screw bottomed out before it pulled tight.

The factory BACK screw is 1 1/4".

It really needs a 1 3/8" back screw.

Simple problem and fix.

You should contact Excalibur first, they will send you the proper sized screw. You shouldn't have to go out and buy anything or cut anything yourself. Let Excalibur fix the issue
