Chrono is this rite

Post by Heavvyduty »

Went an picked up my new bolt,s today. And the shop let me shoot thr his chrono. He said they never had a M405 in there shop.

Bolt,s are 412gr . I let him shoot it 1st shot 394fps 2nd was 395fps. Now I know all chrono,s may be a little different. But doz that sound rite. By the way he said the bow was over kill. He compared it to like a 223 vs 7mm rifle.

Sounds to me his chrony is readin fast unless you have very hot set of limbs. Yer's should be in the 385 fps area wid those 412gr arrows

you can get limbs higher or lower in deflection. theres no way to know unless you take the limbs off to look. my last set of 405 limbs had the number 49 on them and they shot 392fps. with a 352 grain arrow. my spare blem set of 405 limbs had 51 deflection and they shoot 400fps. i have a set with 54 on them so i can imagine those would do 405fps as adervertised.i normally wouldnt care about the speed but thats why we bought a 405 and wouldnt settle. keep in mind a Chrono could be off a little too. i keep numbers written down on most of my crossbows.

Chronos can fluctuate tremendously depending on the lighting as well. Indoor vs outdoor, cloud cover or lack of, fluorescent lighting, etc...I've seen a 10fps variation with all things equal but a change in lighting.

Oh BTW no such thing as overkill, but under-kill is a real thing. More power Scotty!

Love them! They cut BIG holes and penetrate very well.

I used them on my Old PSE 335FPS an loved them. I now have the M405 an I,m wondering if it,s to much POWER for them.Would like to stay with them. Have you had any problem with them opening in flight?
