350 MatrixLE Chrony results/review

Post by georgiaboy »

I took my 350 to the range today to sight her in & get it ready for turkey season. :D Once sighted in i got the chrony out and put her through the paces 8)
stock string and 18" diablo's @ 355grs...340fps
stock string and 18" BEE .001 @ 420grs...321fps
JBK string and 18" diablos @ 355grs...344fps
JBK string and 18" BEE .001 @ 420grs...323fps
I must say i'm not very impressed with the JBK string, less than 5fps of speed gained and the serving came completely apart at around 30 shot's.
I expected more out of a $ 40.00 string than 30 shot's. I think i will stick with the stock string for now. The bow is a tack driver!!! :D :D At 20yds i kept putting the arrow through the same hole until i blew through my bag target!!
Those 420gr arrow's hit harrrrddd!!! 8)
My only complaint with the bow is after about 10 shot's i had a piece of the camo coating come off the left mag tip about a 1/4 in wide x 1/2 in long in the groove where the string is. Looks like just the paint...i can see the black of the mag tip but it doesn't look like a chip. I will keep my eye on it but i think it's cosmetic only.
Porky better watch out this season!! :D

Sounds like a 355 Matrix just about. As for the serving, that stinks. Sounds like she will be a great hunting bow.

Did you take the 150gr points off and put a 100gr point on the diablos?

Danny Miller makes Flemish style strings for the Matrix series bows, and makes them in some colors. They are quality strings and are VERY reasonably priced. Don't know if you will pick up any FPS since the factory string is a fast flight material to start with, but they are sure good strings for the money. just a thought :D
