Comparison of M405 vs BD400 limb attachment
It's easy to see the difference in geometry. There is obviously less stress on the BD400's limbs. On my 405 vs BD400 the draw length is 14.0" on the M405 and 13 6/8" on the 400. Others may vary slightly. Incidentally, it's 13 1/4" on the 380.

That's like apples and oranges for sure. Suppose the real question is
how are the speeds with each and does the BD come close to its rated speed or even the 405 that you have?.

I have owned both. I currently only own a bulldog 400. The 18 inch arrow sits deep in the bulldog 400 channel but with the matrix 405 it was in the foot stirrup

The Bulldog's riser looks like it may weigh less.

Once again it seems to me, in all things archery, what you gain in one aspect you will lose in another. More speed and power = higher draw weight and stress on all components. Swept back riser = less draw weight and components stress but loss of speed and longer draw. Physics are still physics. I guess it's finding the place you're happy with compromises you're willing to accept.
