Hoyt Spyder 34 Transforming!

Post by xcaliber »

Got the bow, set it up, and shot at twenty yards a few days ago. Nice!

Of course, I have to make it my own, so Vapor Trail Strings & Cables have arrived, and tomorrow the transformation begins. Paul, you were right, this is one sweet bow!

Very Nice Bow!!! Congrats!
The most fun of the whole process is setting them up the way you want and dialing in!!
I just re-did my Mathews Chill-R Custom. This time after new strings I went to 550 gr. Arrows. Now this thing smacks hard and still cruising at about 290 fps.

Good fun ahead for you me thinks!!! :D

I picked up a Nite hawk Bow Press to use on the past parallel limbs, it is very nice. I'm giving my other portable press with the split limb adapters to the apprentice, he'll get years of service from it with his Martin. He already knows how to change out cables & strings with it, so he'll be happy. He will find out he owns it tonight when he drops by to pick up some arrows.
I do enjoy setting up the compounds John, it is something I really find takes my mind off other stuff for a spell.

Congratulations Dan! :D They are awesome bows. Are you able to check your cam sync/timing? I'm assuming yes if you're installing new strings and cables yourself.

Dan, the Spyder 34 is a sweet bow I bought a black one several years ago and decked it out with everything green including strings and cables and it was pretty sharp the one I had was a 40/50 lb bow and I wish I would have kept it but now I'm shooting an Elite Energy 35 and love it also. Good Luck and have fun shooting. I've had a bunch of Hoyts over the years including 3 Vector 35's and 1 Vector 32 that I shot the highest score I'd I've shot at 3D tournament.

Strings & Cables on.

Cam lean set, had to twist up the close side of the Y-Cable as usual.

Varified peep location with string slid to position.
Installed 5/16 peep for my old eyes, and set the drop away rest.
