Aluminum Nocks
Hello I'm new to the forum and have a question. Has anyone ever used a insert as a nock?? Other then the hole and maybe a bit longer I don't see any reason they can't be used. Your opinion ?

Re: Aluminum Nocks
I believe the insert to be heavier ( but haven't weighed one yet) and would make the rear heavier which would change your FOC making your arrow not fly correctly. But those with more experience will verify this.

Re: Aluminum Nocks
I have pondered that myself. I can't see a problem if your adding more weight (brass) to the front.

Re: Aluminum Nocks
Total weight of the 2213 nocks I have are 30gr, I cut them in half and got 12gr. Same exact weight of the poly nocks I have.

Re: Aluminum Nocks
Depending on the source, plastic nocks are about 8 grains.
Plastic is much more forgiving. They do not scrape while traveling along the arrow channel and they are easily replaced. If an aluminum nock gets a nick, it will cut a serving really easily. Worse, if the damage is bad enough, it can cut through your serving and into your string.
