This morning the hockey world lost the greatest player ever.. Rest in peace Gordie. I was lucky to meet him many many times. Still the largest hand I ever shook.. :(

I met Gordie Howe as a ten year-old in the lobby of a hotel. He signed autographs and hung out with me and my hockey buddies for a good while. It left a huge impression on me. The world lost a great hockey player but an even better man.

The future bridge span over the Detroit River between Canada and the US separating Windsor Ontario and Detroit Michigan has been named after Gordie Howe.
