Best String for Matrix 380, 405

Post by Squirrel »

Hello All,

What is the most durable string for a Matrix 380 or 405?

1. Boo String

2. Danny Miller String

3. Vixenmaster String

4. Another brand

These are all great strings (1-3), but in terms of durability which is the winner? Which one lasts the greatest number of shots without having to adjust the brace height and rotate the string so the trigger claw hits a different part of the serving?

Thanks. :D

Durability is pretty much the same for any properly made string. The same goes for servings made from .036" Angel Majesty. Anyone you hear saying their is far more durable is a liar.

The good fellow that posted just above me strings are as tough as any, and much tougher than most. His workmanship is incredible, and his knowledge about strings goes beyond mosts comprehension. He is far too modest to tell you that though. I have NEVER heard one complaint about a Boo string. Just my dos centavos.

Like my 8ptbuk string. Factory string has been stretching since I got it last September. The 8ptbuk string has not moved. Good turn around as well.

Keep in mind that there are also a lot of variables in the string. The higher the strand count, material used, length and type of serving material, silencers, etc., will all afford different properties to the string. Some may want speed, others stability, it all depends what you're after. Any quality, custom string maker can help guide you towards whatever you're after.

I have strings from 2 different members on this site and will be ordering a Boo string this summer. Vixenmaster and NCHUNTERKW both make outstanding strings and both guys make great looking strings. I highly recommend them.

Strings are like ice cream, some like vanilla and others like chocolate.
Different string materials have their own characteristics and shot results.
Some are a little faster while others offer a smoother shot.
I have a few custom 40 strand strings from Boo and 8ptbuk, as well as the Force 10 from Boo and the Rhino strings from 8ptbuk. The 28 - 32 strand strings are very good strings, but my personal preference leans towards the 40 strand strings when I am shooting all day. I don't mind giving up a little speed for a smoother feeling shot.
I have tried strings from most string makers here, and they all make very good strings.

I have some Boo strings and some Vixenmaster strings. As far as durability I really can't say cause I have not been able to wear out a string from either of them so far. I will keep on shooting and let you know if one or the other ever fails me.

Personally I think their is a perfect string for the 380,, and one for the 405,, the 380 I like the 30 strand Force-10,,,, I'll gladly give a couple fps with the 405 to smooth the beast with a 36 strand Force-10,,,, most of these guy's will make that fer ya,, you won't be disappointed!!

The best string? As stated that is a loaded question.. And it's really a personal preference.. Material? i like the force 10, and d-97. String count? I like a lean mean slinging machine, so i go with a lower count. Makers? Boo, 8pt, vixen master, All will do you right and make you a hell of great string. For me Keith, or NCHUNTER, is my go to guy, again that's my personal preference. As long as you go Flemish.. Smile.
