Gen 2 Micro 335 vrs. the Origional Gen 1 335 performance ?

Post by L. E. Carroll »

It's been raining and overcast to the point that I can't get readings with my chrono. It has to be used outdoors in natural bright light to work and give accurate readings...

I personally know that the first gen 335's were over achievers speed wise often posting speeds above 335 fps with 350 gn. {Test weight arrows} . However, with past issues limb wise with the first models, I decided to re-think the issue, wanting reliability over a possible decrease in speed with the newer model. Yep! I realize with the new limbs, this is no longer an issue, but I now have a gen 2.

I will tell you the new gen 2 hits hard and gives me less than 1" groups at 40 yards ( the farthest I have tested it to date).

Would those of you with the new gen 2 models post up some speeds you may have recorded with various weight arrows up to 460 grains ( specifically at or very close to 350, 375, 390 405 and 415 grains ) as 390 and 415 are the weights I anticipate using with the 100 and 125 grain heads and Ignitor nocks I'll be using on 15 1/2" Zombie Slayers. The 350 and 375 grn. weights would be the weight of a factory quill and 100 125 gn broadheads. The heavy 460 grn. ones would be 14" BEE's with Nuefletch Ape Tails, 100 gn heads, and 110 gn inserts.

Thank's, Gene

I'll post up some Micro 355 speeds using those exact arrow weights after the next sunny day here.

Thank you very much ! :D

But it looks like you may be posting 355 Micro speeds....and I, as I'm sure others, will be interested in those.

However, what I'm interested in is the Gen 2 335 Micro and performance numbers from it to be able to compare it's performance to the origional 2015 Gen 1 335 Micro model.

I'm pretty sure a Gen 1 riser on a 1/2" longer Gen 2 rail would be way above 335 and most likely 355 Micro performance levels, not to mention the increase in draw weight....

I'm looking for performance specs of a standard Gen 2 335 Micro with no modifications other than perhaps a custom flemish string.

Thank's Gene

I am goin to wait n watch on this Thread of fps between the 1st n 2nd Micro's 335 models. Mine shoots 346 fps usin a 350gr arrow. It falls fast usin a 400gr arrow, 314-316 fps, kinda puts me at the E'cet 200/Vortex. Its jus a shorter n easier handlin model :D

Dead on at 30 my m335 dropped 8 inchs with 400 gr quill at 40 and did not have that snap when it hit target like it did to 35 yds so looks like 35 will be my max on Buck ...4 inchs high at 20 ..You are right MICRO is way to go if you hunt from treestand in my opinion..Will be testing it out to 35 yds from 18 ft up as soon as weather gets cooler...

I felt the same way when I sold my Vortex and got a Matrix 355. Smaller better handling crossbow plus it is faster. Plan on holding on to it for awhile.
