Quebec is certainly hunter friendly with plenty of Outfitters providing a quality hunt experience.
Congrats on your fine bear hunt.

I live in the Saguenay region of Quebec and over the past 30 years, there are more and more bears. I know of people who buy the're bear permits but not many are serious about it. Where I hunt, the permit is good for spring and fall. Last fall, one bear came up to about 4 feet from me before I waved him off. Bear sign and tracks all over the place. For people who do not live where they hunt, using a good outfitter is almost 100% chance of success.

Exactly right, success rates are pretty high with outfitters, my buddy and a few of his friends from Texas always always tag out. This pic is from this year, the bear on the left weighed in at 267lbs  a big boy for sure. The guy on the left was one happy Texan I tell ya. He nailed that big boy at about 10yards with a vertical bow .
