Torque spec for rail to stock and sound deadening

Post by FORVOLS »

I have a new single stage TT to install in my Matrix 355. Is there a torque spec I should use when attaching rail to stock? Also when I have a part would it be of benefit to put any sound deadening material in the rail?

The longer mainframed Exo series crossbows seemed to benefit slightly from foam filling the mainframe and I don't see it worth the time and mess foam filling a much shorter M355.

I suggest snugging the stock to mainframe screw finger tight only using a short Allen key since anything providing more torque can strip the short and fine threads easily if not careful.

SNUG,, don't try and crank it down. I am not aware of a specific torque spec, but remember you tightening a machine screw into an aluminum rail, not a nut. I use blue loctite and like I say just snug it, don't get carried away think it will be better to crank it down,, it won't.

I cut strips of high density foam and pull them in every cavity, it does feel more solid, and more dead when you shoot it, I never used a spray or liquid.
