Thanks to All Forum Members

Post by ianinno »

well as the title says id like to take the time to thank so many of the forum members and their patients with all the new Excal Bow owners.
i purchased my 355 Matrix last fall and had many questions as i am very new to bow hunting, which were all answered in a timely and welcoming way, very impressed........
fast forward to Ontario's spring Black Bear Hunt 2016( ya i know im a little tardy sending this update).....so long story short, i hit the bush and set up 4 stands and baited for a week and a half or so.....worked hard at it too.... on June 13 at 7:30 my top prospect (not the biggest) wandered into my stand area. after 15min of mulling around i was able to take him at 34 yrds with an all Excal set up. Bow, arrows and broadheads. 328lb and he dropped after a short 18yrd dash from a heart shot.

So i view this as a community hunt and harvest thanks to you all!!!
id love to share but maybe should have taken the bigger one for that!! lol
thanks again to the best forum and forum members on the net!!!

I think I can say about all of us came here with the same Experience,, maybe not just new to any crossbow, but new to Excalibur and recurves, and everyone was extended the same willingness from the veteran forum members. But no bow marketed, offers a following this big, that are this willing, and capable of offering as much knowledge to new owners as Excalibur owners, and allowed to by the forum administrators.

Maybe it's just that we care more about using and understanding our equipment than the owners of other bows, and not just caring about use them to kill when season rolls around.

I think the biggest thing is no other Company, offers the opportunity for those that do make or find improvement's, and the knowledge to work on their own bows, to share it with others bow owners. This could be for liability reasons, could be to generate more revenue to their dealers, keeping some in the dark and making them rely on others to service their own bow.

Or maybe it is just because so many people realize it is the largest selling crossbow for a reason, and even though we have the same % of owners using a Manufacturers forum, that are numbers are so great, that puts so many more owners available on a forum to share their ideas freely, as well as experiences.

What ever reason it is, I to thank everyone here. I have picked up tidbits from new owners as well as our very seasoned veterans since joining this form. The biggest asset is the number of forum members, the more the merrier, and even though any group will always have their Joe C's,,, they will also have those that are assets to the rest,, even the veteran owners can come here and pick up ideas, if for no more than, new thought, to new ideas of their own!!

Congrats,, on your hunt,,, yer bow,,, and yer respect for this forum!! I am glad to have another solid member on the forum!!

hey Sproulman ! thats some big bears you got there!! i was targeting a few different Blacks coming into my sights (up to 6-3/4" spread on the print)but stuck to this guy for the meat! was fortunate the hide was still all winter fur so its going to make some impressive mitts that's for sure.
and thanks to Wildcatter, couldn't have said it any better!
