micro 355 or micro 335

Post by Trenavd »

I am new here and have decided I am buying one of these two crossbows but could use a little help in my decision.

From my limited knowledge it appears to me the only difference is the scope and 20 fps. The cost difference for me is $230.

My question is it worth the $230 to purchase the 355? I am primarily a whitetail deer hunter from trees and blinds however I have in the past hunted elk and moose so that is also a consideration.

Thanks for any help.

Pine Mountain Archery is the vendor who puts them on EBay brand new with no reserve. Last December 380s, 405s, 335, and other Excaliburs were going for around $650 left and right. Purchased my last two bows from him with no issue.

Tough to beat that. Maybe if I had a local shop within 30 minutes of me who carried Excalibur parts then I may buy a bow from them if they could get within $100 but with Danny Miller being only a call away I have had 0 bad things to say about buying a EBay bow.

I can get Micro 355 loaded package here locally for $800.00 and the 335 for around $775.00 ...That $695.00 he was very lucky on that as you said most times the 355 is going for 800/850 but micro 335 are dropping fast to 700/725 area...I expect 335 to be under 700 soon and 355 is all rage now..

The amount of "Umph" required to cock the Micro 355 should be considered as well. The extra 20 fps might not be worth it to you. I've not cocked the new Micro, but I know a few that found the 335 Micro to be "Too much of a good thing"

Just something else to consider besides the dollars and cents aspect . . .
Micro 335
Matrix 380
Boofest 2016 Matrix 330
Trigger Techs all around
125 gr. QAD Exodus (Micro) 100 gr Slicks otherwise

That is reason some went with micro 335 ..I have friend on here Crowell he got micro 355 package for $695.00..He is 50 and says it cocks fine..At 62 with my 335 its easy for me even after 20 shots BUT I learned how to bend my legs to pull...But I would not want it any harder and what is 20 fps for me on Buck at 30 yards..

Well I had the chance to get out and shoot my micro 355 today, I put 80 shots through it and it is a tack driver out to 50 yards,.... But I hate the trigger, I guess I will be looking into the trigger tech

I have used the Micro 355,335 & 315.

The 315 is a fun to shoot all day bow that I would not hesitate to hunt any animal with.

The 335 is a great middle of the road bow. A bit more stiff to cock but no issue for me.

The 355 is a real power house hunting bow. Very stiff but it's a trade off if you want a flat shooting bow.

You can't go wrong with any one of the three..
