That really is so nice to see. I can't wait for those days to come. Spent the afternoon walking around Cabelas looking for Moose yesterday LOL.

Great to see pic like that but unless you can get kids on Buck it will end..

we have lost 500,000 hunters here in pa .Why because of lack of deer now in wmu2g of pa do to massive Doe killing that has been done .
but PGC feels its because KIDS do not get enough time in woods..When are they going to wake up no kid is going to sit in woods like I do for days and not see deer let alone a Buck....

I saw about 7 kids for season hunting and 4 were in trucks riding roads..
I hope you continue with your kids on this my brother spent thousands on his son and he does not hunt..He said Uncle sproul boring sitting in woods not seeing Buck for days or weeks on publicland..

He is right...

Yes and No, I'll do my absolute best to ensure my kids learn to enjoy, respect and share the outdoors. I'll instill values in them and teach them to hunt and fish. BUT, at that point, the choice will be theirs . I don't believe the kill or the catch is the be all end all. Sounds cliché, but it's the time spend for me. If my Son takes the same approach, I believe he will be successful in the outdoors. If not, I'll be sad, but it's his life I have to accept. Buck or no buck. I'd be happy if he still wants to sit beside me when he's old enough to do so. LoL

Kids have a very short attention span, if ur going to take them it's got to be exciting, re-warding with lots of action for them to enjoy it. fishing or duck hunting is always a good starter. If there's lots auction going on its always fun. Where we do our deer hunting its rifles and dogs so most of our chases are over within a hour, having my kids hanging out in a tree we me for that length of time is easy enough to keep them focussed
sitting in a tree for 12hr wouldn't be my cup a tea either!
As a side note my 3yr old does look like he will be the most promising of the 3 of my boys!

Back in those years no one had camera ..You were rich if you did...The pictures we could have had of 20 bucks hanging at camp and big bears ..Turkeys oh my ,nothing to get your limit of ruff grouse...Every hollow had 20 to 30 deer,20 grouse easy big flocks of turkeys none under 20 lbs ..

hunting and fishing was unreal here in pa..Fish were so big they would not fit in your basket tails would stick out..

We had best of best And no cameras....
