Hunting weather in North Carolina

Post by Bcwn »

With bow season creeping up on us ever so slowly the weather seems to be much hotter than a few years ago. Temps reaching 102 in the index here in the south is nasty stuff. Only six weeks or so before opening day here, and I've got to say its probably gonna be in the 80s. I'm very fortunate to be given the opportunity to hunt a tract of new land that screams bow hunt. But you better believe me when I tell you the ticks are just as bad as last year, those things are just plain rotten to the core. I normally brush in with a ghillie suit, but I've got to say this year I may wait to hunt the ground until we get some cooler weather.

I don't know where you are in NC but here in NE Tennessee its been pretty hot as well low to mid 90s all week and only getting down to mid 70s at night. I also think the first of bow season is still going to be pretty warm. and yes tics are every where here...Will really see what its like when squirrel season opens up in AUG.

I'm in NC too.....and yeah it's been real hot lately. Fortunately some public land near me doesn't have a tick problem....but my other sites do. Sigh.....just check yourself over very well after each outing.

Same temperatures here in B.C. Glad I have a basement with constant 60 degrees. I hope it cools off for deer season as I'm a cold weather person.
