Micro 315 for Bear

Post by Carnivorous »

Seriously considering using the Micro 315 for Bear. It might be slower than my 355 but the bow will be great handling in my climber and has more than enough KE for a nice double lung shot if I am lucky enough to have one visit my bait site.

I wonder if anyone has taken a bear with this model yet...lol

You could use an Axiom, it really is just preference , they will all kill a bear.

Shot placement is more important than which Crossbow to use.

Bear are not the same as deer, remember shoot lower if you are in a ground blind.

I used the Gold Tip Nitro Pro arrows for bison out of my Micro 335. 14GPI. With a GT Brass insert and extra 50gr wt. (to get 110gr), Blazers and a NuFletch Igniter I was right at 500gr total wt. I think that would push your BH through a bear pretty good.

20 yards from a 300 LB bear with two holes poked in him sounds like a bit of a thrill.

Most never use expandable on bear here in my area of pa ..they also use heavy arrows like 500 grs ..shooting past 30 yards no...my friends got 25 in 1 crew and 14 in the other crew last season all in one week..

I will get some info on which points they like most but they never use anything but fixed point..

I love expandables especially spitfires.but i have always used boltcutters for bear i got 2 with my 330 and boltcutters they both passed thru and short recovery . Im not nocking your broadhead i just think penetration is more important with a "lighter"bow. Use what you have confidence in thats what is important. No dought your setup will work.i think with a bad hit on a bear with any broad head will not save you so it comes down to placement a bear is really not any harder than a deer to kill people just think they are .
Vixen 2, metal ibex,Phoenix, sapphire, matrix 330 ,matrix 355 ,vortex and baby grand piano y25 relayer.

And, I will make sure one comes to you!!! 8)
