School me on arrow weights

Post by Robfromga »

New xbow guy. Ive got a micro 355 on the way to me and I'm trying to figure out what arrows and arrow weights to use.

I'd like to stick to Ramcats for BH, since ive had really good luck with them and they seem to fly great. The ram cats are only available in 100&125gn models. So running a 125gn BH, what arrow would I run? Ive been looking at the Spinal Tapps. But a little confused on length, and weight and if there needs to be an insert to bring the tip weight up since the BH isnt available in 150gn....only 125gn

Many arrows to choose from...most run 90 or 110gr brass inserts on the front of their arrow choice. :D
Keep your total arrow weight including broadhead above 350gr and you will be fine. :)
Around 400ish seems to be the sweet spot for hunting.
Good luck!

Yes sir...16.5" is your arrow length. :D
I shoot BEE .001's out of my Matrix, deadly accurate out to 70 yds 8) which is as far as I've tried it!
Many here also like the Zombies and Spynal taps.
What part of Jawga you call home :?:

Congrats on the new tool. Good advice there from GB, and VM. 400 grains will provide plenty of thump, and treat your bow real nice as well.

Welcome aboard.
X2 on the good info already given.
400 seems be pretty common for most seasoned shooters.
I use Zombies with 110 grain inserts and 125 grain RamCats and get excellent results with my 330. With my 310 I use the 100 grain Muzzy Trocar BH
I like the way the RamCats perform, but you need to replace the blades after a kill.

After reading a lot on here on Micros most use like 16 inch arrow real stiff ones like .001 and heavy from inserts and points like 110 gr insert and 125 gr points..

others like me use 18 inch arrows with 110 gr front inserts and 100gr points and use.005 stiffness but we only shoot out too 40 yards hunting ..small size arrows a lot like zombies.black eagles ,others like gt arrows that are 18 inchs

if i was shooting past 50 yards most say get .001 stiffness not .005 ..This is what i read here over year i have been here...

I am least of information so its only what i read most use....Most try to keep arrow weight for deer around 400 grs or so..My gt arrows are 395 grs and my factory quills are 400 grs..
