Scary Event

Post by xcaliber »

We had a guy walk into a local gun store that I am in all the time, as well as many of my good friends. This guy decides he's checking out, for ever! Has amunition in his pocket, gets a gun from the shelf, loads it, then shoots himself. He missed, and thank the Lord he did not injure anyone else. This is a small town here, and we walk in & out of this store in our cheesy arse downtown area with long guns, handguns, bows, crossbows, etc. without ever scaring the people shopping, now that is in the PAST! Very sad to say this, but the good ole days are GONE!

He's fine, jailed, but fine. I was not there, but I did go in yesterday to get a package I had ordered, and of course it was nearly business as usual. There is a hole in the ceiling.  The article was in yesterday's Times paper from NW Indiana. It was a long gun from what i gathered, and he JUST MISSED!

Sounds to me more like a cry for help than an actual suicide attempt. I do believe that it would be hard to miss even with a rifle if you were serious about it. You might not kill yourself but I doubt that you would miss.

....The People's Republic of NJ is a much safer place   because all guns are locked behind a counter and we have to provide our NJ FID card and drivers license before we are even shown a gun....

..... unfortunately this will have a detrimental effect on us because it will be viewed as guns being the issue when obviously there is a mental health concern here!

I did not ask the owner any specifics. This is a Family Business that has served so many hunters, and sportsman over the years, and never an incident like this. Nobody would dare rob the place cause 99% of the guys in there carry, and hunt, one shot killers if you know what I mean. I'm really surprised, and rather grateful that the patrons in there actually ran to help him, and really hope he gets help!

Wow, some crazy crap that is.

I agree with Robert, the guy is asking for help. Sure hope he gets it and also hope the incident doesn't become the headline for the lefts attack on guns.
