New String on Excalibur Cub
Chucked a new 60X Custom string on the Excalibur Cub. Point of impact went up 1" but windage was spot on. Speed increased from 265fps to 274.6fps

Looks good man. That is a great improvement in speed. Those Cubs are cool little bows....

Thanks mate. I bought this one for my 9 year old boy. Im currently shooting a Katana. Only new to the crossbow scene but is frustrating to try and source parts over here in Australia.bellerivercrossbowhunter wrote:Looks good man. That is a great improvement in speed. Re: New String on Excalibur Cub
Why don't folks buy 60x strings? is there something wrong with the?
Re: New String on Excalibur Cub
I would ask what weight the arrows are, and see if you are above the rated speed. Sounds like a good gain though. I'm not a big fan of endless loop strings on my Excalibur Crossbows, but if speed is the priority, endless loop strings tend to be lighter, and faster.

That is an impressive difference.
Exomax, Equinox, Matrix 380 and now a Scorpyd Aculeus
Re: New String on Excalibur Cub
You went from a Dacron string to a high performace string material, likely Dynaflight 97. The up side is speed increase and the downside is that Dacron is less likely to cause limb damage if there ever is a dry-fire. Just a friendly suggestion that may prevent some heartache, get your son an ADF (anti-dryfire) unit.
The Cub is a pretty low powered unit, so this may not be an issue.
It's good that you posted your findings because there are more than a few out there and no one has offered that info to date.
