I know when i got my first gen 335 it registered 349 fps on the chrono with a 350 Gr arrow and factory string.

With a 400 gr arrow and flemish string it was roughly 315-320 fps.

Now I'm just waiting for the shop to get the new chrony up and running to see what she is shooting with her new 426 gr arrows. I'm guessing around 310ish?

All I do know though is that whatever she hits, she hits hard lol.

Tonight I just fired a consistent round of shot at 365fps. 366(first shot), 364.7, 365.1, 364.8. and continuing. So with a limb swap I just gained 20-21 fps

So the interesting part is that the last Limbs were bith marked 76, these ones 70 and 69.5. so there ya go , the numbers don't amount to a hill of beans .

Exactly the same setup, same arrow, same stock string, same field point. The rest, the target, the Chrony has not moved since last week.
It could be the numbers for the Micro are a measurement of how far the limb deflects based on a certain poundage pull... thus a smaller number = stiffer limbs. Just a thought. Thanks for posting the info!

Yep the GenI's are the ones to have. With that said, my 355 is now a real bear! It's shooting my 389 big John arrows with a Flemish string faster than it was shooting a 350 with stock string before the limb swap

But you're still using the GenII riser on your Micro 355, right? Are you saying you put GenI limbs on it though?

Gen II riser. New limbs direct from Excalibur.

I am getting a gen I riser soon. But I will NOT be trying it with these limbs and the 355 riser. First off, I couldn't cock it if I tried, second ... I'm scared for my face.

It's is going on my Gen II 335.
Which in all honesty I was planning on hoping up the 335 and selling the 355. But now there is no way I'm selling this 355. Too awesome. So really for me the riser trade im working on right now, is only for experimenting now, as I have a micro shooting in the 360's.

There is a guy on YouTube who gets 364-368 with his Micro 355 repetitively. Those numbers came shooting a 350 grain bolt. He also shoots bolts up to 500 grains and you see those chronograph numbers as well. You also see the decibel levels of each shot. When shot, the 350 grain bolts registered around 80 decibels.

If I knew a Micro 355 shot into the mid 360s with a 350 grain bolt I would own it. The problem seems to be (from reading forum posts) that a consumer doesn't know what any one particular bow will shoot at.

I wish Excalibur marked their bows like traditional bows are marked. For instance, you don't pick up a Bear Kodiak and hope it's at the draw weight you want it at. It's marked at 55 lbs or 45 pounds or whatever, give or take a couple. As it is, though, I do see an incentive for consumers to go to an actual bow shop and shoot the actual bow they might buy. This way they can shoot the bow through the shop's chronograph and decide then and there if it performs rather than buying on a hope and a prayer through the Internet. And if it doesn't perform up to the numbers you can negotiate the price down a bit. Anything that helps the local guy survive and keeps $$$ away from Amazon is a good thing. So maybe Excalibur shouldn't mark their bows like trad bows after all. Lol

Oh, and if you want to check out the video I referenced, search for "Micro 355 speed test" on Google or follow the below link.

I would wager the fella on youtube shootin in the 360's wid a micro 355. Has either did some mods on it & or be lighter arrows than bein showed. I have witnessed some fast Excals in my time but its not likely a stock Micro 355 is gettin up in the 360's wid 350-355gr arrows

Mine is now. New limbs installed last night. Slowest shot all night was 364.7, fastest was 365.3.

It is shooting 21 fps faster across the board compared to the last Limbs.

When you say you got new limbs, did you buy a new set outright or did you contact Excalibur and tell them you wanted a stronger, faster pair that would shoot at least 355?

No ,I was sending my scope back so I only had one micro to play with. I was swapping limbs around to experiment and found a serious blemish underneath the limb. So they returned with the scope.

Truth be told, even though it now hits like a bastard, I can't say that I recommend swapping limbs to chase speed. Before the Chrony test I still thought it hit hard and shot great, which it did. There are down sides to everything, and in this case the cocking effort has dramatically increased over before. Two sides to this coin I guess
