Swhacker broadheads

Post by Huronsteel »

I'm thinking of trying the green 1" 100 grain swhacker out of my matrix 355, can I get some input on these broadheads

My young hunting buddy uses them with a 70# Martin compound bow, and has killed a lot of deer with them. Great blood trails, never a pass thru though. I think they would be a great broadhead for the 355.

I have shot the 100 grain 2" cut ones for years. I like them. Have not yet seen one that was not sharp until I pulled it out of the dirt. They need touching up at that point usually. :D

I've used them.. And they shoot well, but with my Ibex out of four deer shot only one was a pass thru..Now i recovered all deer under 50 yards but i wasn't completely satisfied with them. I'm fairly sure that with a faster crossbow pass thru's would not be an issue. But when i moved up to the 355 matrix, and the 380 Matrix i looked at other broad heads, and the one that preformed the best on deer last year for my son and i on thin skinned deer was the N.A.P. Spitfire XXX. All pass thru's short heavy blood trails, looks like they were hit with a 12,ga shotgun slug. Hope this read helps ya in some way...

Last week, I shot a doe at 14 yards with my Matrix 355, Diablo bolt with a 125 grain Swhacker crossbow broadhead. Complete pass through she only went 20 yards and dropped dead. Excellent choice the Swhacker is. :D

this head does not make a big entrance hole because of the design. So without a pass thru blood trails can be weak. I tried a pack about 4 year ago when Hank Parker was singing their praises. Killed 2 doe. One was a complete pass thru with good blood. The next doe Was quartering away and it hung up in the off shoulder.
She only ran 60 yards buy I found very little blood. They are a proven killer but just not for me.
