Exomag

Post by buffalo »

It has been along time sence my last post on here. So to rewind, I shoot an old exomag. It's never been in the woods (dad bought it brand new). So here's my question. I don't remember the fps, but I remember it said to shoot a 350 gr arrow. The gold tip lazer ii are ruffle 190-200gr as advertised. The practice ppints I have are 100gr. Would I mess the bow up if I shot her with the 300gr arrow com paired to the advertised 350?

Don't shoot the E'mag wid less than 350gr total weight! Have you added the total arrow weight on a scale. Usually the brass front insert was 110 n GTII's were 163gr n 100gr pt should put you 350-354gr

Unfortunately, the only scale I have is for reloading and it only goes to 100gr. I have only shot this a hand full of times. Now I have a hunt on some archery only wma land. Now I Have 5 weeks to get ready.

They are aluminum. So the question is how much weight do I add weigh, and how?

Hiya Buff,
Take a field point and screw it on. Apply heat to field tip only to warm the glue. Grip the field point with pliers and pull out gently. Take your arrow to the archery shop and get some brass inserts (90-100 grs.) that fit snug. I use a hot melt glue stick used sparingly to glue in the insert. Others use gorrilla glue blue top, two part epoxy, and numerous other glues. It depends on if you ever want to remove one later. Good luck, we're all counting on you. :D Oh yeah, welcome back.

If there is a archery shop close to you, take a arrow and have them weigh it for you! Don,t shoot it with a under weight arrow!!

Decent digital grain scales are less than $30- seems like a good investment. Definitely do not shoot it with an underweight arrow.

Good luck,
