One bow, two stories
When the Micro 335 hit the market I got one. A great bow, but, a pain in the back to shoot much. So when the 315 came out I figured if I swap risers I would be a happier camper. Well it finally happened thanks to forum member janesy from Canada. We traded risers. He got a faster bow and I got a slower one. Yesterday got the bow all reassembled and started shooting. Perfect!! Easier to cock, quieter and slmost dead on accuracy. I have found my perfect bow and was very pleased. Then it happened. I'm settled in on the bullseye at 30 yards , just pulling the trigger and I hear this strange sound. I look at the bow and my arrow is stil there and the string still taut. Then I hear a slow ticking sound from the bow. Like it was a bomb. . I placed it on the ground and stood back to watch the left limb slowly pull back and destroy itself. The dreaded Micro Cracked Limb syndrome is in my house. I have shot this bow hundreds of times with no problems. So just wondering what gets sent back for service; the whole bow, riser and limbs or just the limb set?
Glad I've got my Matrix 355 to back me up.

i'm an archery rookie so i have only sympathy, not expertise, to offer. i bought myself a 335 for xmas last year and i hoped that the 2 doz shots i've put thru it showed that i would have no problems with the limbs. do you think your problem was caused by the different riser? does the riser swap affect your warranty? best of luck getting ur bow fixed.
on a semi related issue, my excal has been sitting in a case with the string on. should i detach it to relieve pressure on the limbs? not trying to sidetrack your topic but you've got me worried! i'm going to start shooting again soon & i will keep an eye on the limbs when i do. again, good luck.

....Keep on shooting and don't worry....no need to detach the string at all...in fact, my 335 sits with the 4x4Kocker (DrStirrup cocker) attached to the string thereby providing additional pressure....If there are any issues Excalibur will jump all over it to get you back up and running before the vanilla ice cream melts on your hot piece of freshly made apple pie!Goose52 wrote:i'm an archery rookie so i have only sympathy, not expertise, to offer. i bought myself a 335 for xmas last year and i hoped that the 2 doz shots i've put thru it showed that i would have no problems with the limbs. do you think your problem was caused by the different riser? does the riser swap affect your warranty? best of luck getting ur bow fixed.

Re: One bow, two stories
With the new riser there should have been less stress on the limbs. There was definitely less stress on me when cocking the bow. I believe they will honor the warranty. This has been a well known problem with the early production run of these limbs. It seems to me the left limb fails in most cases. If I have to buy new limbs to shoot my favorite bow then so be it.

Re: One bow, two stories
You can send the limbs in or you can send the Riser n limbs in into the Warranty station, Woody's is the closest to you then Danny Miller. They will fix you up no problem!
Re: One bow, two stories
I have already filed an RMA and awaiting instructions. I have no worries. Last year I fell while hunting and jammed up the trigger on my 355; Woodys had it fixed and back to my home in a week.

Pull the limbs off and send them and save a lot of $$$ shipping. It is very easy to do.

Re: One bow, two stories
I just had to make a RMA for my Matrix and they suggested I send the riser with the limbs so I did and didn't think anything of it until I got to FedEx and it cost me $34 to send it. I wasn't planning on that coming out of my hunting/fishing budget.

Re: One bow, two stories
No need to stress, 'stuff' happens. As mentioned, remove the limbs and send them. Save your money from shipping the whole shebang. If you're unsure how to go about it, just ask. It's really very easy. I suggest you ask the warranty station for the limb strap fasteners and scope mount fasteners as they can be easily stripped.

Easy process all the way through. Including taking off the riser and limbs.
