Serving seperated/ New string?
I am new to the recurve world but it appears my serving has seperated on my matrix grizzly. Bought my grizzly back in May of 2016. Not sure what I have done wrong to cause it. I now know I should be rotating string 180. I have been practicing a lot and waxing the string after approx 50 to 75 shots. The brace height looks fine, right around 1". String looks in great shape. Just the serving is seperating. Anything else I should look at? Grouping of bolts is good but sometimes they walk. Not sure if this is caused by serving. Scope is tight. So having said that it is almost hunting season and do not want something going wrong during season. I am assuming I need a new string so need recommendations on who is trusted in the recurve Excalibur world. Thanks ahead of time.

String is good you could get it reserved, but an extra string is always a good thing to have on hand

I'm not sure what string you have, but if it is served with Angel Majesty, the wax is the problem! That serving bites into the native string material very well, and has wear characteristics unlike other serving materials which do require wax. Sounds a bit goofy, but it is not! Get ahold of Danny Miller, he's in Ohio, and can get you a string lickity split!

I have about 80 shots on my vixenmaster string angel maj and its getting close to needing serving replaced .looks like claw marks wear not seperation ..micro are hard on servings from what i read..
i use very little wax on servings nothing on rail at all.i am getting no wear from rail on servings its claw mark wear ....I did dry fire about 3 times and some say that causes claw mark wear on servings .
i did polish my claws too..

Are you saying no wax at all on ANGEL MAJ servings? mine is showing claw marks after 80 shots or so on my micro 335 not sure how much longer its going to last before i send it to mike for reserve ..xcaliber wrote:I'm not sure what string you have, but if it is served with Angel Majesty, the wax is the problem!
