new limb strap bolts

Post by Carnivorous »

Just got the new style limb strap bolts from Excalibur for the micro. Huge improvement over the old button head cap screws and this shows they have been listening to the customer concerns. No more stripped screws.....:)

Looks good, now if they replace the button head screws in the scope base with cap heads and use a keen or acme thred insert in the mainframe for the stock screws their crossbows would be simply perfect. :D Jefro

Do you know if they have the new style bolts for the Air Brakes? They are longer.

Yep, definite improvement. I've had my 335 strap on and off 10 times and they show no sign of anything. So much easier

The button head is somewhat less obtrusive. They could have solved the "stripping" problem by switching over to a Torx head.

There's a reason why the better scope ring manufacturers switched to Torx.

They are an improvement, but if I didn't own the newest version of the risers, (all contact points with the limb are now radiused), I wouldn't rush out and get these because there is about a 1/8" gap between the limb strap and the limb which allows for more free forward movement of the limb. On the older risers, this could create a sawing effect because the limb will rub up on a hard/sharp edge.
