Matrix 310.
18" executioners/110 grain inserts/2" blazers/100 grain Spitfire 2 blade. = approximately 400 grains.
18" Executioners/110 grain inserts/2" blazers/125 grain Nap 3 blade = approximately 425 grains.
Both of these setups work great from my Matrix 310....
Deadly accurate always passthrough except the rare shoulder shot.
My normal hunting range is 18 to 30 yards but did have a passthrough on a 42 yard double lung shot two years ago.

One of the combos .
Wolverine : 2117 at 20 inches
130 gr. Wasp Camlock
2 aluminum inserts
5 inch feathers
= 428 grains

In comparison to todays faster bows . Still got complete passthroughs .

I'm using this setup in my 380's this fall;

Broadhead: 150 grain Boltcutters in same alinement as vanes
O-ring: 0.5 grain - used to aline broadhead to vanes
Insert: 92 grains brass insert
Shaft: Zombie Slayers 18 in. @ 9.1 gr/in = 163.8 grains - logo removed
Vanes: Blazers @ 6 grains/each = 18 grains
Insert: 8 grain plastic
Glue: approx. 3 grains

Grained matched to +/- 1.0 grain
Total weight: 435.3 grains
F.O.C.: 25%

Getting same hole accuracy and less noise and vibrations from bow's.

I'm sorry for my crappy attitude, I truly mean that. I'm by no means an expert, and try to learn something here every day. I have been way down in the dumps lately for reasons I cannot control. Again, this is a great post, and idea that I'm sorry for dumping on.

....I guess another question which comes up often in making your own is what do you do in the preparation phase of making arra's. So I'll give it a shot:

1. Take raw shaft and cut to size,
2. I square each end using the G5 AST,
3. Clean our both sides with Q-Tip and acetone,
4. I remove the label with acetone,
5. Take fine sandpaper and rough the end of shaft where vanes to be applied,
6. Clean entire outside of shaft with acetone,
7. I rough up insert with a fine course file,
8. Glue in insert using Tech Bond (never had one come out),
9. Depending upon what nock to be used it is inserted into shaft at this time,
10. Arizona EZ Fletch Bolt is used to apply vanes to shaft,
11. Vanes are prepped by running fine sandpaper through glue groove and then cleaning with acetone and setting aside to dry,
12. Shaft with nock is inserted into jig,
13. Vanes are inserted into arms and Gorilla Glue Blue cap is applied to each vane making sure it is enough but not too much...a toothpick could be used to assist spreading glue along glue trough,
14. Without touching arms the bottom of jig is rotated to compress arms against shaft,
15. apply arm, shaft collar...wait 1.5 minutes,
16. Remove collar and release arm tension on jig by pushing up and rotating base.
17. Pull each arm away from shaft,
18. Remove completed arra from jig and inspect,
19 Take a toothpick and rub, pushing against the shaft along side of the arrow trough where it adheres to shaft,
20. Clean any excess spillage of glue with a paper towel and acetone,
21. Apply glue bead to front and back of vane.

Done.

This is my process...I would be interested in hearing others.
