I'm shooting a micro 335 with 16 inch Big John custom zombie slayers with lumeknocks and brass inserts for a total arrow weight of 289gn and I topped those bad boys with 125gn slick trick magnums to give me a total weight of ~414 grains. They are absolute tack drivers out to 40 yards (as far as if tested them thus far). I'll never aim at the same p.o.i twice. Also played around with 100 grain toxic's (389gn total weight) giving me very favourable accuracy.
335 Micro Nightmare
150 grain boltcutters
100 grain Toxic's
125 grain slicktrick magnum's

Just sent the new Micro 355 out for some custom anodizing and starting to put together the new arrows. Went with Zombies, of course, cut at 16 3/4". This is short enough that a broadhead up to 2" long will stay just within the stirrup. I removed the decals and went with 2" blazers fletched with the Bolt fletcher, 110 grain brass inserts (for when I want to shoot Luminoks and maintain a high FOC), plastic nocks and eventually 100gr points. I've loosely grain matched my inserts to my arrows and dry fitted them. Without the points I'm at 293 grains and will probably be at 294 - 295 grains and I make every shaft the exact same weight and epoxy the inserts in. With points I'll have a total weight of about 395 grains. I'll check my FOC once I'm done but I'm guessing I'll be around 19%. I'll update when I get my bow parts back and set everything up. I'm expecting this setup to fly tighter than laser guided missiles. We'll see.
EDIT TO UPDATE: with field points (o.a.l.) I'm at 19.88% F.O.C..and just over 393gr..

matrix 380 queston

Post by sonnyboy »

while I am shooting my new matrix 380, I can swear I can see the arrow tail out to the left an the tip corrects this, an when it hits the target ,it is straight. Am I seeing things or will the correct arrow combination fly dead straight like a dart?I cannot imagine how a 2'' vein can stabilize the arrow accurately ......sonny :?

TheBig1 for his Grizzly:

I use 18" Spynal Tapp's with either 100gr Slick Tricks, 100gr Ramcats, 100gr Phat Heads, or 145gr Phat Heads.

Last year I had a complete pass through with the Tapp's using the 100gr Slick Trick at 40 yards.

I haven't chosen my setup for this season yet.

Predator55 for his Grizzly:

2219's cut to 17 in, aluminium flat Nick with a 5 blade razorback broadhead with blazer vanes. Total weight is 455 and I can hit a golf ball at fifty yards with the stock 3 dot scope my grizzly cub came with. I have a matrix string and a vixen string and the 2219's hit just a tad lower than the stock diablos the bow came with. Should be plenty of medicine for Illinois whitetails. My total cost of one arrow is about a $1.50, and I have enough bolts to last me a lifetime of hunting.
