Fixed-Blade Broadheads Fit In Quiver?

Post by mmc »

Good evening,

I am looking for 100 grains fixed blade broadheads and hope you guys/gals can help me with my questions. I shoot out to 60 yards in ideal conditions, so broadhead flight is very important to me. A friend recommends that I try the Slick Trick Xbow heads.

1) Will the Slick Trick Xbow 100 grain heads fit inside the stock Matrix quiver? Are the ferrule diameter of the Slick Tricks a close match for the diameter of Zombie shafts?

2) If no to either of the above, can you recommend a good fixed blade head that flies excellent out to 60 yards or so, and fits the Zombie shaft diameter and stock quiver?

Thanks,

mmc. I use the excal quiver with ZS/Slick Trick Mag. They fit just fine. I carry my quiver in my pack or on my belt loop with no problems.

60 yards..SCARY in my opinion.but for 35 yards and under a lot use slick trick 100 gr or nap heads..some like g5 points that are sharp..

Thanks sproulman,

Yeah, 60 yards is tough for any broadhead. But I like to tinker and improve stuff so gonna see what I can do with them. Been eyeballin' the Strikers too as vixenmaster suggested... probably start with a pack of each and see if I can bring em' under control.

EDIT: Those G5s look tough!!

I'm trying VPA 3-Blade Broadheads 100 grain Vented 1 1/8″ Diameter.

They are available from 85 grains to 300 grains.

They fly just like field points. They are almost like a G5 Montec, only they are CNC machined from solid billet carbon steel not cast like the G5's are.

The Slick Trick 100's ferrule is a little bit smaller than the 125Magnums or 150 Xbow Tricks. One nice thing about them though is you can "mix and match" blades and ferrules to get about anything you want.

You might look at the RamCats and QAD Exodus too. My Ramcats fly better than my Slicks do, and they fly great. ANd I have heard great things from trusted sources on here about the QAD Exodus. And they all fit in the quiver...but just barely

....I am sold on Mechanicals and NAP Spitfires have been my rocket of choice...awesome cutting diameter and the dang tick toters always take an early dirt nap (I love vixenmaster's jargon!)

Anthony :)

PS: ....and yes they fit in the quiver just fine....in fact I am not sure if there are any BH's which won't fit!
