Opinion on Thermacell?

Post by vertacre »

Who has used a thermacell? Does it work? Does it repel anything besides mosquitos? Most important, does it smell? Do deer spook at the scent?

I would rather leave my bow or gun behind than forget my thermacell. Works on yellow flies and no see ums as well.

It works, on mosquitos for sure - no I haven't had any deer spook.

It works good! I also wear the bug tamer plus light jacket with mosquito net hood.

I have a thermocel and it works great as long as the wind is low.
You put in a repellent strip , click a button and as long as you sit next to it you are blood sucker free !
It must have some scent but it is not really noticeable to me , I would recommend one for Turkey hunting for sure and deer also it makes a hunt enjoyable were it could be any thing but.

.... There is only one model to wear or carry for hunting...I bought the earth scent pads which work great... As everyone has articulated... Would not hunt without one in the early season!

My Doghouse blind would be unbearable during spring gobbler season without a Thermacell.

Took one bear hunting, wish I had taken an extra 10. Could have sold them and paid for the hunt. Don't leave home without it.

Bought one this summer while doin nite time varmint huntin.works great . Tried huntin first nite without it and probably lasted 10 minutes. Don't go huntin without it when skeeters are out. Unit is thermal ell brand, only cost probably less than 20 bucks and they sell refills.definetly worth it
